Frequently Asked Questions

We're pleased to answer your questions about how to work with Saad&Shaw

Will you raise the money for me?

No. That’s not what we do. We help you learn how to raise money more. We help you learn how to grow your relationships, extend your reach and raise more money. We train, strategize, and consult, but we do not raise money on your behalf. We will help you with role playing and preparation, but the “ask” is yours to make. You are the best representative of your organization and your work.

How much will it cost?

Costs for an engagement range from $5,000 for our counselOnDEMAND service to more for larger projects such as a feasibility study or campaign plan.

How can I work with you?

If you would like to work with us, we always start with an exploratory 30-minute conversation. We want to know what you are seeking to achieve with your fundraising, and your current capacity and experience. If we can start with counselOnDEMAND, we always recommend that. If you need more extensive services, we can craft a proposal for your consideration. At all times, our goal is to provide you with services that are a fit for your capacity, vision, budget and timeframe. All fees are explained up front. Our goal is to offer you services that meet your needs and your budget.

How long will it take to raise the money we need?

It depends. We know that’s not the answer most people want to hear, but meeting a fundraising goal depends on how much money you need to raise, your organization’s experience with fundraising, how your case for support resonates with potential funders, the level of board engagement, and many other factors.  Our experience has shown us that there are no short cuts to fundraising: if you need to raise funds, you need to dedicate time and resources to this work long before you expect to reach your goal.

If we work together, what is required of my organization?

We ask for your full participation in our working sessions, whether in person, by phone, or video conference. We ask for an honest partnership where dates and commitments are honored, and open communication so we can all adjust when changes need to be made. Choosing to focus on fundraising does take time – usually much more time than anticipated. Experience has demonstrated that 90% of fundraising is planning and preparation – and that is where you and your team will need to be involved.

How much money has Saad&Shaw raised?

Not a dime! We have helped our clients raise millions and millions of dollars. But we don’t do the fundraising.

We’re not like everyone else! How can you help me with my unique situation?

While there are best practices in fundraising, there is no “one way” to raise the money your organization or institution needs. We do not offer a cookie cutter set of directions. We will listen to your story, ask questions, and work together with you to find a way to enter the fundraising market, and to raise the money you need.
